Academy Registration and Orientation @ Eugene Opera Conference Room, Midtown Arts Center | Eugene | Oregon | United States

Interested students and parents — come to the Academy Orientation and Registration Meeting! Meet the Academy staff and other interested students and parents. Refreshments will be served.

The Eugene Opera Academy is open to high school students with an interest in any area of the performing arts. Whether your interest is performance, set design, costuming and makeup, lighting, music, marketing — you can think of the program as an “All Access Pass” to the process of production.

You will go backstage, meet with the technicians, the musicians, the chorus and the stars. You will have the opportunity to attend rehearsals and matinee performances, to sing in a master class and to develop a project following your personal interest. You will also have the opportunity to win a $500 scholarship to the educational institution of your choice after completion of high school. All students will receive a Certificate of Participation for use at schools and in academic/employment applications.

There are about 20 students in the Eugene Opera Academy program. Faculty include Eugene Opera’s Music Director Andrew Bisantz, artistic and technical staff, the local and international stars in our casts, local technical crew, and members of Eugene Opera’s Education Committee and Chorus.

Join us. Learn a lot. Have fun — and a unique and valuable educational experience!

Program fee: $30.00 for the whole season of 20+ events, including tickets to the matinee performances! (Some tuition scholarships are available.)
