Eugene Opera has a long tradition of identifying and showcasing emerging stars, from Deborah Voigt and Susan Graham to Lucas Meacham and Joelle Harvey. Fostering young talent is an integral part of Eugene Opera’s mission, reflecting our commitment to education and to the future of this art form.
Emerging artists are encouraged to apply for PNW Sings, Eugene Opera’s voice competition for Pacific Northwest singers to be held March 16-17, 2019.
Singers can apply in the College Division (ages 19-25) or Emerging Professional Division (ages 26-32).
A total of $7000 in prizes will be distributed, with a role opportunity at Eugene Opera as well as a monetary prize for the Grand Prize Winner.
To process your application, we require the following:
- $30 application fee payable online or by check
- Online application
- Proof of age (copy of driver’s license, passport, or birth certificate)

Deadline for materials received: February 1, 2019.
Artists selected for the final round of the competition, to be held on the stage of Silva Hall, Hult Center for the Performing Arts, must arrange to stay locally overnight March 16 in order to return to Eugene for the final round of the competition on March 17.
A pianist will be provided for both rounds of the competition.
